HERENOW22: Outside In, curated by Isaac Huggins, will investigate local artists' use of recycled, repurposed, and discarded materials, surfaces, and mediums. This exhibition aims to raise awareness about sustainability and the environmental impact of consumerism in today’s society and subvert the idea of the traditional 'white wall' gallery model. There is a distinctive difference in attitude between what is done outside, what is done inside. By providing a collaborative space for both contemporary and public art to co-exist in the same setting, Isaac asks what better way to challenge this than to bring the OUTSIDE IN? Featuring artists: Andy Quilty, Ariel Katzir, Conor Macgrath, Jack Richards, Jordan Botello, Luke O'Donohoe, Rob Douglas, Shanti Gelmi, Straker, and Von de Lini. # Presented by Edith Cowan University (ECU Galleries) Isaac Huggins is a multi-disciplinary artist based in Perth, Western Australia. Specialising in printmaking, painting, drawing and assemblage. Isaac's recent work has taken more of an experimental approach, combining the use of salvaged materials, telecommunication components, and textiles, resulting in a series of print works with sculptural qualities.

Gallery25 is proud to present NEWSROOM, a visual art exhibition by three artists - Alison Alder, Marian Crawford, and Richard Harding - who have mined and re-cycled their respective collections of analogue and digital news items into new creative artworks. While the news cycle presents us with a ceaseless barrage of information, an artwork stills or slows this relentless cycle, making space for a different type of reading. This more reflective space makes room for knowing the news but not being overwhelmed by it. NEWSROOM presents the opportunity to consider the fruitful relationships and engagement that can be found in a creative and imaginative re-presentation of the news. # Presented by Edith Cowan University (ECU Galleries) Alder, Crawford, and Harding’s artworks intersect conceptually through the prisms of feminism, human rights, and social justice issues, and align technically through their use of innovative printmaking processes. Alder, Crawford, and Harding explore their impulses or desires for a better present and future in this exhibition, and this optimistic thinking draws their works together. All three artists work with printed images and printmaking methods, and find these processes exciting: lifting a print from a matrix after running it through the press always reveals a surprise, and it is this surprise that engenders optimism, and hence (maybe) a sense of utopia.
