Entry is easy via a 180m track (gear up in the car park). There are two options; a short swim over very shallow reef to the North to 4m marked above, or a longer track which is about 550m out to the outside of the outer reef which maxes out at 10m.If you do this track travel South along the reef for 200m (make sure you penetrate the reef occasionally to make the most of it), then swim 550m back.
The geology is limestone and there is plenty to see including; sea urchins, anemones, turban shells, sea stars, octopus, prawns, cray fish, cuttlefish, blue devils and ox eyes, juvenile pink snapper, hard and soft corals, nudibranchs and even lionfish! Take a torch for the overhanging ledges and move the kelp out of the way to peer underneath – Wear gloves! Caves, such as they are, are tight. Be careful of overhead environments.

Located just 30 minutes from Perth City the Mindarie Marina is the perfect location whether you are looking for a holiday, weekend getaway, function venue or a relaxing afternoon by the ocean.
- Suited For:Families
The Mindarie Marina has recently celebrated its 20th anniversary having been officially opened in May 1989 by the then Premier Peter Dowding.
The harbour, originally scheduled to take 38 weeks to build, was completed in just 32 weeks (eight months) an impressive effort for a project of that scale. The first stage of the Hotel/Marina complex was completed at a cost of $34 million.
Over the past 20 years the Marina has undergone not only a huge development blitz in the surrounding areas but has also experienced its own facelifts and refurbishments with some sensational new additions to the Mediterranean style Boardwalk area. The latest additions having recently been completed in July 2006 involving the redevelopment of the boardwalk area with the addition of the Indian Ocean Microbrewery and Restaurant.
The Marina itself is approximately 13.5 hectares (34 acres) with the depth varying from two to five metres. The maximum depth of cut is 18 metres, with a harbour entrance of 50 metres next to an 800 metre breakwater. Constructed in 1988, sixty machines were used to excavate and compact approximately 30,000 cubic metres per day.

Delicious seedless mangos grown without pesticides and ripened on the tree
- Open days/Times:Every day
- Activity:Fruit Farm,Fruit Picking
- Suited For:Families
- Open Days:Monday,Tuesday,Wednesday,Thursday,Friday,Saturday,Sunday
At The Mango Farm we are proud to present our mangoes in the very best possible condition. The fruit has been left to mature on the trees and only when the optimum sugar and flavour level has been reached is the fruit picked and presented to you.
Why our Mangoes taste better?
It is no secret that fruit grown in a more temperate environment have a superior flavour and higher sugar content. Our orchard has been established much further south than typical tropical plantations. Perth’s cold winter has proved to be advantageous giving our fruit the edge when it comes to flavour and sweetness. At The Mango Farm, our trees have been propagated from seed sourced from the Bowen region of Queensland.
In 1992 the seed from trees which were renowned for their flavour were chosen ensuring the quality of the fruit we produce. The fruit available here is free from insecticides and pesticides. Fruit fly and other pest control is achieved through selected baiting. We trust you will enjoy the sensational taste of our mangoes and look forward to your visit at The Mango Farm.
