Markets, restaurants, breweries, bars, history – you’ll find it all in Fremantle. Known for its maritime history, the port city is also home to the Fremantle Prison, which housed convicts from the 1850s to 1991, and the Round House, an 1831 building which also briefly served as a jail. If you’re chasing a good feed, the cappuccino strip is home to numerous Italian restaurants, Mexican joints, and pubs, while the port hosts a brewery and fish & chip shops. If you’re after some local crafts, a trip to the Fremantle Markets is always great value.

Description

Now The Kite String Tangle jump-starts 2020 with new anthemic single ‘NORTH’ and the announcement of his forthcoming second studio album C()D3X dropping March 2020.

2019 was a breakout year for The Kite String Tangle with a shift to a harder, darker, more electronic sound, a residency in Berlin, sold out headline Australian shows and performances at some of Australia’s biggest regional Festivals.

C()D3X will be supported by a national album tour in May/June which will see audiences cram the dancefloor for The Kite String Tangle’s new darker, electrifying live show across capital cities and select regional towns.

‘NORTH’ - which comes along with a beautifully shot video from Dyllan Corbett – is another undeniable dancefloor anthem from the Brisbane artist/producer, with driving synths accompanied by Danny Harley’s signature vocals.

The single further strengthens the darker direction that The Kite String Tangle is taking which started with last year’s singles ‘P()L4R’ and ‘KILLING TIME’. 'P()L4R' was highly spun on triple j and a regular on the Shazam charts, followed by fan favourite ‘KILLING TIME’ featuring the brilliant vocals of Eliott.

The Kite String Tangle has also enlisted local and overseas talent to remix the new single, with both a Summer Festival ready remix of ’NORTH' from Motez and a peaktime 3am warehouse mix from the UK’s Shadow Child now available on all streaming services.

It’s been a busy couple of years for the Brisbane producer. The release of his debut self-titled album in 2017 which saw him nominated for an ARIA award, three national headline tours, much-talked about sets at Splendour in the Grass and FOMO festivals amongst others. In 2018 he released single ‘Give It Time’, won a Queensland Music Award, played captivating sets at local and international festivals.

Then there was also the release of mini album The Kite String Tangle Presents: In A Desperate Moment which resulted in two sold out shows with the Queensland Symphony Orchestra in Brisbane. All this came alongside the announcement of his own record label Exist. Recordings which has put out well received releases from Brisbane producer Golden Vessel and sibling duo Lastlings.

Description

The sisters Polly Ngale and Kathleen Ngale (Ngal) are amongst the most senior custodians on Utopia homelands. Their shimmering paintings of the Bush Plum Dreaming story give us a sense of the importance of their country, Ahalpere, and the resources and cultural ceremonies that underpin life there. While the artists are aged perhaps in their 80s, the energy and vibrancy of the art suggest that the cultural life that drives their culture is a major source of inspiration and life force for Anmatyerre and Alyawar people.

In their work on the Anwekety Bush Plum Dreaming paintings, the artists depict the bright yellow seeds of the plant and colours associated with the plant and the seasonal colours of the land as the fruit ripens. The painting becomes an image of abundance and fertility of the land and a homage to the tradition of stewardship of Country

Having been performing solo shows for over decade, Creed Bratton, who played an over the top version of himself, as the mysterious, quality-assurance director that smells like mung-beans, lives for scuba diving and can’t tell the difference between an apple and a potato, is finally heading to Australia with his live show next year.

Set to hit Australian shores in June 2020, Creed’s variety show – which includes live music, stand-up comedic and untold stories from both his life and time on ‘The Office’ – will land in capital cities around Australia, including Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Canberra and Perth.

While many will know Creed Bratton as the mysterious, eccentric and hilarious character from the hit TV series ‘The Office’ (US) and for roles in hits like 1985's Mask, the US comedian is also an established musician, with a career in music that spans nearly five decades.

As lead guitarist for legendary American rock group the Grass Roots, Creed played on the band’s first four albums, shaping their folk rock/psychedelic pop sounds, before breaking away in the 1970’s to pursue a solo career and comedic work.

“Since I first came up with the idea for this variety tour a few years ago” Said Creed Bratton “I’ve always wanted to head Down Under and perform it for Australian audiences. I couldn’t be happier to announce that I’m finally making my way there this coming February.”

In addition to live music from Bratton’s longstanding career, the live show will also include annecdotes from Creeds time on set of ‘The Office’ as well as the highs and lows of a careers that has to be heard about first-hand to be believed.

Description

Known for his lanky frame, dirty jokes & pre-pubescent moustache, Frenchy only promises one thing from his comedy show - laughs. This ain’t a TED talk, this ain’t 60 Minutes, this is an odd-looking humanoid telling a bunch of dark jokes you shouldn’t laugh at, but do.

There may be some songs, there may be some awkward break-dancing and there may be a grown man imitating a pokemon who knows what you’ll get when you come to a Frenchy show.

For over half a decade Frenchy has been turning it up with his epic, one of a kind live shows. He writes and performs a brand new show every year, and each show is more ridiculous than the last.

A brilliant, off the cuff improviser – his ‘crowd work’ is some of the best in the world and always keeps the show feeling fresh & spontaneous.

With over a billion views on YouTube and Facebook combined, Frenchy may be known for his YouTube videos, but it’s on the stage where he really excels.

Edgy, Dirty & Absurd, this show will have you wondering if he is some sort of bogan mastermind, or simply a bird-shaped man who’s sniffed too much paint.

Description

Blending their signature hooky choruses with a shadowy undertone, ‘Live In Life’ was co-produced by the band and Konstantin Kersting (Tones & I, Mallrat) & recorded in the same WW2 bunker that birthed their third and most recent album, 2018’s LO LA RU.

Premiered on triple j Breakfast, the world of ‘Live In Life’ follows a person over the course of one night as they come to terms with the gravity of a relationship breakdown. As the sun sets, they’re feeling positive about the next chapter – a feeling that’s quickly swallowed by the weight of regret as night falls, by which point the damage is done and they realise it’s time to move on.

This will be one of the best concerts of the summer, so make sure to get your tickets as soon as they go on sale!
