Cocktail Masterclasses at Home with Simply Cocktails

Round up your friends on Houseparty and shake away the isolation blues with Simply Cocktails Home Five O'Clock-tails.

  • Dates:Apr 3 - June 20
  • Time(s):3pm AWST
  • Venue:Streamed from Simply Cocktails Facebook

Details

  • Hosted By:Simply Cocktails
  • Ticket Price:Free
  • Type:Food & drink
  • Audience:Adults

Description

To cure self-isolation blues, Simply Cocktails will this Friday launch their first Home Five O’Clock-tails video tutorials and virtual mini masterclass on their Facebook Page, so cocktail lovers can shake and stir their favourite tipple in the comfort and safety of their own home.

Get your mates together for the first of Simply Cocktails’ Facebook Live cocktail mini masterclass this Friday (3rd April) at 5pm AEST with Australia’s Scotch Whisky Brand Ambassador of the Year (2019), Mark Hickey teaching you how to create a Cointreau Fizz. For those looking to take the team virtual drinks to a whole other level, jump on the House Party app to the team while you all stream the mini masterclass on Facebook from your computers, allowing you can see how your colleagues’ cocktail making skills fare with hot tips from some of Australia’s leading mixologists.

This series of live mini masterclasses will take place every Tuesday and Friday until the 30th of June. So for those, like many of us, enjoying a cheeky weekday drink, next Tuesday night (7th April), Danilo Migliorini, mixology maven from Eau De Vie Sydney, will teach you how to shake up the ultimate Tia Maria Espresso ‘Quarantini’.

Luke Hanzlieick will teach you how to make a Chartreuse Green Chaud - a soothing winter warmer drink for those cool autumn nights. Andy Buntine, former manager at Katuk in Melbourne will showcase the incredibly decadent Mozart Choc-tails (Thursday 9th April) for those looking to really treat themselves.

Followed by a ‘Tom Collins’ workshop by ambassador Josh O’Brien on Tuesday 14th April featuring The Botanist Gin, the perfect 5pm drink for after work.

In addition to the live mini masterclasses, the team behind Simply Cocktails will recruit 100 Australian bartenders from around the country, that are currently out of work due to the current lockdown restrictions, to submit their cocktail tutorial videos. That’s one cocktail per weekday for 100 days! So whether your missing the famous Remy Martin VSOP at Bar Lafayette by Nathan Arias  or the Ginger 43 by Murray Walsh at Mechanics Institute, it’s time to ensure your liquor cabinet is well-stocked with a diverse selection of premium spirits from Cointreau to The Botanist Gin, or Sierra Tequila to The Macallan Whisky.

With the devastating impact of COVID-19 on the hospitality industry closing bars across the nation and leading to 689,800 people already out of work and no doubt many more to lose their jobs, the team behind the Simply Cocktails Facebook Page has stepped in to offer a helping hand to some of our local bartenders who have recently lost their jobs with a new virtual cocktail workshop initiative.

All ingredients for the Simply Cocktails Home Five O’Clock-tails are available in store and online from Dan Murphy’s, BWS, Liquorland, online retailers, Boozebud, HelloDrinks and hundreds of independent liquor retailers.

Description

Australia’s premium, bespoke, lifestyle, destination, winery event is back in 2020, announcing the dates for their 4th season of the country’s incredibly popular garden-party picnic by day turned fiesta by night. In 2019, Wine Machine attracted over 65,000 sommeliers-in-the-making across its 6 dates nationally as it descended upon the most famous and spectacular wine regions in the land for a decadent day of dining, drinking and dancing.

Lovingly hand-picked each season, Wine Machine take the curation of the soundtrack to your favourite day of the year very seriously but don’t pop the cork on the lineup until the last minute (bar the already announced McLaren Vale event). What we can tell you however, is that per tradition you will be able to secure the cheapest release of tickets NOW because we know the majority of you can’t wait and don’t want to miss out!

The organisers have promised a bumper 2020 vintage with the return of their signature “Cellar Door” oasis of epicurean delights, vintage activities and bohemian comforts. In addition, the wine-makers are delighted to announce they are turning the standard festy-festival-fare on its head with the roll-out of their gourmet “Le Marche” activations in all states, where the top local chefs and farmers lovingly present the tastes of the region in a farmers market bazaar the likes of which have not been seen before.

Wine Machine is also very pleased to announce that for the first time ever, tickets will be available to their famed long-table lunches in each state! Come dine with the artists, wine-makers, farmers and VIPs in the cascading sunshine among the vines as we toast the fruits of this incredible land we call home.

In keeping with their mission of encouraging emerging creatives, Wine Machine will again throw the door open to a $10,000 art grant with the winner to exhibit their creation at the event in each state as well as a national music prize with the top act earning their chance to perform onstage.

Join us again for the Best. Chardy. Ever
