Description

From the team that brought you the award winning show In Cahoots comes an endless Sense of Wander. Through mixed mediums of sound, light, visual design & dance, we invite you to sit with us in a state of limbo. In this place of in-exactness, we question what it is to discard feeling 'lost' and perhaps embracing curiosity. To slip into a dark abyss and forget the world exists. To be held in an unfamiliar surrounding. To be placed on the edge of the unknown. To find comfort within what you observe. Being left with a sense of wander, ambiguity and inexactness. A team made up of all Perth local independent artists, we invite you to come along to indulge in an endless Sense of Wander. Presented by: April Vardy April Vardy moved to Perth in 2013 to complete a Bachelor of Dance at WAAPA and an Honours degree as part of LINK Dance Company also at WAAPA, graduating in November 2016. Since then she has choreographed a dance work as part of 2018 FRINGE WORLD called Shall we get comfy? at Paper Mountain for three sell out nights! She also performed with Brooke Leeder & Co. in Structural Dependency at PS Art Space in December 2018. April performed and choreographed a solo dance work as part of a double bill in FRINGE WORLD 2019 called Susan & The place in which I’ll fit will not exist until I create it. Her 2020 show In Cahoots won WA Winner of the FRINGE WORLD Dance & Physical Theatre award. Medium: For boomers, younger couples and teens. Thought-provoking, but not confronting.

Why, we've endured so many collective emotional and spiritual existential crises in our lives - it's practically a sport! 2020 certainly ain't our first rodeo. Description

Incy-Wincy is the embodiment of a story of self-transcendence. Like in the nursery rhyme. A challenge is presented over and over again yet there is a never-ending drive to keep going, in spite of conflict. Incy-Wincy Spider gets washed out, the sun comes out and the climb up the water spout starts again. Conflict is inevitable in life, and while sometimes it may be impossible to dissolve externally, it is vital to transcend it through inner strength and resilience. It is not about the fight against it but choosing a direction within it and finding ease, to keep going in the face of adversity. Internal evolution is readily available when limits are challenged and we reach beyond our comfort zone, much like a child learning to walk, succeeding by standing up after falling over constantly. Choreographed by Montserrat Heras and performed with live original music by Jesse Vivante. Presented by: Montserrat Heras What is most essential in my practice is truth, evolution, curiosity, determination, connection and artistry. I believe that artistic development is an infinite journey, in which we are constantly seeking out new tools to fulfil self-actualisation and illuminate new perceptions. For these reasons I have pursued professional development as a contemporary dancer at Kibbutz Contemporary Dance Company MASA Program in Israel, Broadway Dance Center Professional Semester in NYC and other programs in Melbourne and around the world. As an emerging young Australian dance artist with also Spanish and Mexican nationalities I aim to create a multifaceted experience for the audience expressing the universality of the human experience. Mild: Shows with broad family appeal and entertainment to suit all ages. Big on fun, low on risk.
