Down one flight of stairs, Pooles Temple is a trendy jazz bar based on the corner of Hay St and Cathedral Ave. Having only opened in July, it’s the newest on the list! Despite this, Pooles Temple is quickly becoming known for their signature Martini & Oysters combo along with their charcuterie and other French-inspired small grazing plates listed on their menu, here. Open Thursday to Saturday from 5pm-2am, their weekend live sets showcase a range of soulful live jazz entertainment. Walk-ins only, so we suggest getting there early!

The Jazz Cellar

If you stumble across a big red phone box in the streets of Mt Hawthorn, make sure to head inside for one of Perth’s best hidden secrets. The Jazz Cellar is an underground haven bustling with energy, character and great music. Perfect for lovers of jazz, visitors can take in the feel-good vibes from 5:30pm every Friday night. Duke of George

This New-Orleans style joint offers blues, jazz and food all night long. Created by WAAPA alumni Renee Coyle, the intimate venue is in the basement of the Brush Factory in East Fremantle. The venue offers an exclusive Dinner Show from Thursday to Saturday with reserved seating and table service. Downstairs at The Maj (Temporarily Closed)

While this venue is still closed due to COVID, once reopened you will be able to see the best local, national and international acts at this unique downstairs venue at His Majesty’s Theatre. Offering genres from jazz to cabaret, the venue brings audiences up close to the stage to create an intimate listening experience. Doors open an hour before every show, making this venue the perfect place to relax with an amazing cheese board and a drink in hand before sitting down and enjoying the show.
